Buffon out for a month?

Wednesday 24th February, 2010 | Football Italia

There are reports that Gianluigi Buffon will be out for several weeks after a suspected thigh strain.

The Juventus goalkeeper pulled up during training today and clutched the back of his right thigh.

It is reported the medical staff believe it to be a thigh strain, although more tests will be needed to confirm the diagnosis.

If the initial fears are correct, then Buffon will be out of action for around four weeks.

It rules him out of tomorrow’s Europa League game with Ajax, which you can watch LIVE on ITV4.

It could also keep the shot-stopper sidelined for some of Juve’s biggest games of the season against Palermo, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Napoli.

Buffon had only recently returned to action after undergoing knee surgery in December
