Ranocchia coy over his future

Wednesday 3rd March, 2010 | Football Italia

Bari's highly rated young centre-back Andrea Ranocchia is being coy amid interest from Juventus and Inter.

The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan from Genoa, is out with a serious knee injury.

Speaking to Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Ranocchia said: “I feel good. I am undergoing treatment at a specialist centre in Genoa.

“The doctors say that I could return for the last two games of the season. I hope that I am able to do it. I would like to say goodbye to the Bari fans who have always supported me. Obviously already having survival in our pocket.”

Asked about his future and that of his teammate Leonardo Bonucci, he said: “For now, we are dealing with simple rumours on the transfer market.

“Instead, the reality is that I am a Genoa player and Leonardo is half a Genoa player. Who says that we can't play together in red and blue?” Ranocchia concluded.
