Andrea Barzagli believes “this is the best Juve in years” and that Cristiano Ronaldo “transmits energy and has a great desire to work.”
The Juve centre back was speaking at a memorial for Gaetano Scirea and was asked about his new Portuguese teammate, who is yet to find the back of the net with the Bianconeri.
“It’s the least of our concerns because when he starts scoring, he won’t stop.
“He’s shown during his career that he knows how to score and we have no doubts about it.
“It’s a pleasure to train with him. He transmits energy and has a great desire to work. He gives something more to our dressing room.
“I was impressed by the ruthlessness with how he trains, in every exercise, even in our crossing and shooting challenges, where we joke about.
“He never wants to lose, and that says a lot about his character and desire to always be No 1. He must be something that drags the whole team forward.
“This is the best Juve in years, at least on paper, but then it’s what happens on the field that counts.
“Champions League? In the last few years we’ve worked to be at the level of the best in the world and we’ve also shown it in the last four seasons, even if we lost two Finals.
“Now we have a player who knows how to win Finals, although we’ll all have to give something more to win it.
“The Champions League is always a bit different. It’s not a simple competition, it’s decided by moments and you have to take the chances you get.”
