Just when you think we’ve hit rock bottom, this version of Juventus manages to find a new low.
The Bianconeri had no option but to return home with three points to keep their slim qualification hopes alive in the Champions League.
Nonetheless, they sustained their most humiliating defeat yet at the hands of Maccabi Haifa who produced a courageous display.
The hosts took the lead early on as Wojciech Szczesny couldn’t parry away Omer Atzili’s header. The same player doubled his side’s lead at the 42 minute with a strike that left the Polish goalkeeper with no chance.
To make matters worse for Max Allegri’s side, Angel Di Maria sustained another muscle injury during the first half – his third of the season.
In the second half, Juve’s performance slightly improved following the introduction of Manuel Locatelli who did a decent job in the middle of the park, while Matias Soulè was arguably the best Juventus player on the pitch despite his short cameo.
However, the team still couldn’t produce too many chances, with Dusan Vlahovic never even threatening the opposition’s goalkeeper.
At the end of the day, Juventus accepted their fate, as they return home with their tail between their legs.
The Bianconeri are now on par with Maccabi in third place. Benfica and PSG are now on the cusp of qualification for the Champions League knockout stages, while the Italians can only target a Europa League spot.
You can’t win tackles when u bring in Slowredes, let go of Rovella and Zakaria, and not start Bremer in a must win game ? Also, why not PERIN instead of that pole ? Whose fault is that ? Whose decision was to sign Kostic who can’t get a cross in or beat player 1:1 and not go for Kavara or Mudryk ? Slowredes + Kostic is 40M down the drain..yes , we are obligated to sign the former…smh..Whose decision was to extend the contract of his errand boy DeSciglio and keep Sandro ?
Agnelli and Allegri need to go…Elkann needs to intervene now
Remember, they have a “wonderful” 4 year plan in place. All will be good in the end, just trust the morons like Nedved and Agnelli and this Ferrari douche!
Honestly, I am not even mad anymore after losing to Monza and Haifa. This team is just doomed and clinging on to rubbish won’t help it.
The team is slow and not creative at all. Defensive work is utter rubbish too!
Kostic is a headless chicken, Cuadrado too old, Szczesny I personally think not good enough, Sandro and Rugani were a catastrophe defensively.
Soule and McKennie were the best today, I think, but I also kind of stopped watching after 65th minute. Got better things to do in life than watching a ship submerging with the captain celebrating it and claiming he will stay on board till the ship sunk at least 100m to the ground and no one is supposed to fix the leaks.
WTF is the management waiting for?
And…no positive comment? From “positive idiots”?
Agnelli and Allegri out! We need Moggi and Conte back!
I’m so ashamed to call myself a Juventus fan… Parades is the worst midfielder ever. I believe the Juventus board has a share in Rugani’s pay cause my grandma will perform better.
This is one of the most confused squad I have ever seen right from the Mgmt team to the Manager and his playing squad.
I sincerely agree that Allegro should leave, else this is becoming more humiliating for the fans as more games are to follow. Juve in self-destruction mode.
You might not have the best squad with fine players but you will have to display your class and professionalism at the top level, may what come.
we have a squad to get top 4 and challenge, and certainly to obliterate Maccabi. allegri is worthless. My club is worth more than this #AllegriOut
Still believe you are part of a solution Sir ? Please prepare your decent excuse..and step up, say the word, admit something, and be a man Sir
Banter Brand, no longer a football club. Congratulations Agnelli. Ignores how the fans are hurting, but doesn`t realise that they are the business, and he gets that sweet sponsorship and everything else from fan interaction and interest, and investment. Not another penny from me to them or their sponsors till allegri is gone. It`s tough to change direction of a billion dollar corporation, but my self-respect is worth more than this and much better things to spend my time and money on. It`s going to be a long path back, even now, and quite honestly I`m not sure this isn`t going to be the darkest period in our history, as he simply will not let allegri go, no matter what he does, and ignores his `employees` being mentally broken and the product he has being destroyed, mocked and very shortly forgotten in front of his eyes outside of his board room. There will be plenty of cheerleading from the Brand Fans, employee channels that pretend to be neutral but are also management so will always blame the players… but they are interchangeable. The players deserve better and tough to blame them when they are not valued and mentally broken trying to work an unworkable system for a toxic coach who throws them under the bus. Ignoring what they are paid, would you be happy, enthusiastic and confident to work for a boss that blames you in the papers for everything he doesn`t do and undervalues you every single day, regressing your career? Or would you leave to a better place that values you and you can work as a team in a happy, positive environment? They will leave in droves, and we can`t blame them, folks. Italiano was free, let`s not forget after Pirlo Conte wasa free, he had a chance in the international break to change…still no. They will go down together then…and the brand will sink in front of their eyes. These are sad times. One thing though, Vlahovic and Chiesa will leave for a proven, positive attacking coach like Kulusevski et al did that will help them succeed, if allegri stays, because agnelli is blind enough to sell them to give allegri more money. All is took was replacing one man, it`s expensive but that`s agnelli`s fault, not ours #ForzaJuve #AllegriOut
