Giorgio Chiellini is expected to join the Juventus management team in the near future, but for now, only a siganture is missing from his extension deal.
The Juve captain has proved fundamental in recent weeks, playing a key role in speaking with his teammates to agree a salary-cut that will save the Bianconeri close to €90m this season.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport report that the three solutions posed by Chiellini were immediately backed by club ‘senators’ Gigi Buffon and Leonardo Bonucci before being backed by the remainder of the team.
Chiellini was the first to understand the urgency of the situation and has a long-standing link with the club offices at Continassa and the dressing room, acting a a conduit between the two.
Gazzetta suggest that recent events have been a ‘dress-rehearsal’ of sorts for Chiellini eventually making the progression to the club management team where he could work alongside Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici.
Focus remains on the near future for now, and while the club remain in isolation with the future of the season unknown, Chiellini is expected to pen a contract extension before his current deal ends in June.
