Claudio Marchisio’s surgery was a success but he faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The talismanic Juventus midfielder ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the Bianconeri’s 4-0 victory over Palermo at the weekend, and will miss the remainder of the season and Euro 2016.
“Claudio Marchisio this morning underwent reconstructive surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” Juventus announced on their official website.
“The operation, performed by Professor Flavio Quaglia at Turin’s Fornaca di Sessant Clinic, was 100 per cent successful.
“The midfielder is expected to return to competitive action in approximately six months’ time.”
