Juventus defender Merih Demiral has pledged to support 2000 families in Turkey during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Turkish international made the pledge via his social media account, saying he would provide food for 2000 families to help them stay at home during an expected lockdown.
The donation will be made via the Turkish Red Crescent, the countries equivalent of The Red Cross. Head of the organisation, Kerem Kinik, confirmed Demiral’s contribution in a brief statement:
“Our country will overcome, without leaving anyone behind. We have decided to support 150,000 families; with the support of my brother Merih Demiral the number has increased to 152,000 families. He is an example for everyone.”
