Juventus are on the verge of completing deals for both Gianluca Caprari and Gianluca Lapadula.
The attacking duo are both playing for Pescara in Serie B and have had standout seasons, with Caprari scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances while Lapadula is likely to be crowned Capocannoniere having netted 23 goals in 35 appearances.
Pescara director general Giorgio Repetto spoke to Tuttojuve.com and revealed that Juventus are on the verge of agreeing deals for both players.
“The President is carrying on the negotiations himself, but I do know that Juventus are at a very advanced stage for both Caprari and Lapadula,” Repetto confirmed.
“In my view Lapadula will be playing in Serie A and I’d love for him to get there with us. Juventus are Juventus, the best team in Italy and among the best in Europe.
“He is certainly a forward who could play for Juve, even if the Bianconeri have five extraordinary strikers at the moment.
“I think after a year or two of apprenticeship, they’ll make him into a player suited to Juve.
“As for Caprari, he has technique and a remarkable change of pace. He has become stronger in terms of character with us, whereas before he was a bit too calm and quiet. Now he doesn’t let go, he gives everything for the team.”
Tired of us signing these average players. I’d rather we sign two world class players for €60m each than six average players at €20m each.
Lapadula seems a possible replacement for Zaza –
Caprari a young talent – There’s a definite shift in policy compared to years gone by. More investment in youth for the long term – I still think we’ll spend big on a midfielder this summer. Morata and Pogba are staying which means we’ll only need a few defensive signings and a 3/4
For the defence, a right back like Danilo would be a useful addition to the squad, and a 5th choice centre back is critical. I would go for Benatia, but only if its on loan. Other than that I’d take someone established in Serie A like Tonelli or Acerbi perhaps.
Tonelli is mu pick – knows the league well, will be able to play across the back and won;t be too disheartened if he has to spend some time on the bench because of BBC – I almost feel we need another young CB in the squad alongside Rugani. the injuries this season have made me paranoid to the extreme – If we’re sticking with the 3-man back line, perhaps having 6 CB’s might be extreme…..at the same time, Chiello and Barzagli aren;t getting younger.
The RB position is one that needs to be addressed. Amazing as Lichty was against Lazio, he’s nearer the twilight of his career – Sime from Sassuolo would be great, but like you ADP, i’d love to see Danilo get a real chance at Juve – He and Sandro….madonna ! they’d tear Serie A up!
Exactly! Him and Sandro together would be unreal. If Danilo can spend a season perfecting his trade by learning from Lichtsteiner, then we have a fullback duo that rivals any in Europe. I believe we will rotate between a 4-3-2-1/4-3-1-2/3-5-2 so we will need 5 CB’s, but I think 6 will be too much.
I believe we are getting Berardi, and in my opinion he deserves a chance. If we keep Morata as well, thats 50 millions for those two alone. Then I can’t really fit in a TQ as well, for monetary reasons as well as team structure. If we get a solid holding midfielder to replace Marchisio, and a couple of defensive additions, I think we will be spending close to 100 million, and I’m not quite sure what our budget
I wouldn’t mind a 4-3-2-1 with three solid midfielders, playing behinf Morata-Dybala-Berardi, but I feel like we could be doing better. I’m not certain at all what will happen in this upcoming transfer window, but I’m sure Marotta and Paratici got it covered!
Forza Juveeeeeeeeeeee
Now you’re making me dream, amico !
The full-back position is one that we haven;t had right in so long – Only now, with Lichty and Evra/Snadro does it look world class – With Danilo we’re talking about a major step up – The last time we have a truly solid backline was when Thuram and Zambrotta played – Too long ago.
I still think the trequartista is an objective – we get Morata and we’re set to go as long as Bonucci stays – One CB and the rest of the money can go on a Midfielder and Berardi – Just think, we beat bayern fair and square, apart from the disallowed goal ! We beat the team that will probably win the CL this season – that shows that next season, with no injuries, we can go all out for a treble – Sign a trequartista and we increase out chances.
I like the idea of changing formation, perhaps as you suggest, the xmas tree formation – that would fit all the players in and give us a real threat goign forward – exciting times !
FORZA !
It would be amazing indeed!
I only became a fan of calcio when I moved to Italy in 2006 right before the Mondiale, and we all know what happened with Juve that year (sigh). So I never got to see that RB-LB combination of Thuram and Zambrotta for Juve. Barcelona, Inter, and Calciopoli took that from us.
A world class TQ would give us an extra dimension, as sometimes this season I felt we have been a bit reliant on Pogba and Dybala to deliver the magic, but how have they responded!!! Against Bayern though, most of the team was brilliant, and yes I agree we fully deserved to go through. With Barcelona out as well, we would’ve been favorites had we deservedly and rightfully made it to the semis. Alas, luck will go with the Old Lady soon enough!
I wouldn’t mind a player like Ngolo Kante as that defensive midfielder we need, he would add a lot of steel, and allow our attackers to be even more expressive. Other than that Gundogan seems to be gone already, and I’m not too sure if there are any other midfielders available who would add to the overall quality of the squad. Anyways I still believe we will make all the necessary adjustments for next season. If we can get something looking like this, it would be incredible:
GK: SUPERMAN, Neto (if he wants to stay, if not maybe someone like Sorrentino or Marchetti), Rubinho the legend
DEF: Licht, (Danilo/Vrsaljko/De Sciglio), Rugani, Barzagli, Boner, Giorgio, (Tonelli/Acerbi), Evra, Sandro
MID: Khedira, Lemina, Sturaro, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah, (ISCO/GOTZE/MKHI), (KANTE/GUNDOGAN)
ATT: Morata, Zaza, Dybala, Berardi, Mandzu
Mamma miaaaaa, this squad is on par with whatever Barca, Bayern, Real etc. can put out!!!
FORZA JUVE! THRASH FIORENTINA TOMORROW!
I wouldn’t mind if we get Danilo. I think he can be special. I don’t want Benatia now that Rugani has settled in nicely. He needs to get a regular starting position soon and I don’t think Benatia would be happy riding the bench in Turin.
In my opinion we don’t need anyone to replace Zaza. We should buy players that can replace our starters. Why waste time on new substitues? It’s ridiculous. Juventus is the only team doing this. Buying a ton of bench players every summer.
I got no problem buying youth but these guys are well into their 20s and playing decently in a second rate league. No other big team would even look at these guys. But somehow we are always interested. You think Barca or Bayern would ever consider buying 2-3 squad players instead of a Neymar or Gotze? Of course not. Quality before quantity. We have wasted hundreds of millions on this stuff the last 10 years. We have to get back to signing 1-2 players that will strenghten out starting 11.
This is not a manager game. This is actually part of what has brought us back to dominating Serie A – not paying ridiculous money for stars.
Yes, initially when coming back up from Serie B with 100+ million turnover, but years have gone by and the club has moved forward and the revenue trebled. Now it’s different, ambition has grown beyond Serie A surely? These squad players are not game winners / game changers in CL – you can’t win CL anymore with mediocrity, you need world class players now. We must have some of them, as many as possible. It’s fine if we are just happy to win Serie A every year and just get out of CL group stages. Depends on our ambition I guess. Who won Barca the CL final against us? World class match winners or squad players?
We are not in a rebuilding phase any more. We haven’t been in a long time. What has brought us back to dominating Serie A is a few lucky signings. Barzagli, Pirlo, Vidal, and built around that. The money we have spent on average players the last 10 years is completely ridiculous. Last year alone we paid more than €60m for Zaza, Mandzukic, Pereyra and Hernanes. Now, I like these guys and they are good players, but €60m could get you a Cavani or a Di Maria. That is world class game changing talent. That is what this team needs. Not some guys that can’t get out of Serie B.
Caprari okay, but Lapadula doesnt really excite me much either. If he comes cheap its okay I guess, but there are better and younger players to chase than him.
I hope for a RB like Danilo or Vrsaljko. A good CM along the likes of Gündogan, to name someone. A young CB who is supposed to replace Chiellini in the long term, like Rugani is to replace Barzagli eventually. Tonelli perhaps?
And a world class striker/trequartista if one or more of the current strikers leaves.
And Berardi of course.
Given Lapadula’s numbers this year I really dont see how you can call have average. This guy is on a pace to score 30 goals this year. If anything Ganz seems average but we are geting him for free so no harm there. The only dilema now is that we have too many strikers….Personally I was never a big fan of Mandzukic or Zaza and i think they should both go. Zaza had a deflection goal against Napoli……. that is his only contribution all year. While Mandzukic had some decent games but his inability to adapt to the intensity of the bayern game cost us the c.l…. Caprari i dont know too much about but if the team is willing to adapt a rotation policy than I am fine. What i mean is bring in these fringe players for a year, test them out then sell. In all honesty I am a big sceptic but Lapadula is having a monster year.
