Juventus are expected to meet Cagliari today in a bid to close a deal for North Korean striker Han Kwang-song.
The 19-year-old has impressed a number of clubs during his loan spell at Perugia in Serie B, netting seven goals so far this term.
According to La Stampa, Juventus are meeting with Cagliari representatives in Milan later today to finalise a deal for Han with a view to leaving him on loan at Perugia for the remainder of the season.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen on the player, however it’s believed the Bianconeri have stolen a march on the competition with Han’s agent Sandro Stemperini telling Calciomercato:
“There is so much talk, it’s true. And in these cases a bit of truth will have to be there, considering the excellent relationships that exist between Cagliari and Juventus. At the moment, however, no one at Juventus has contacted us directly, maybe it will happen soon, it’s normal for the clubs to speak to each other first. What is certain is that there is interest in the boy from many large clubs, not only Italian.
“For the moment, it’s a dream. Every young football player hopes to join a great team. It’s true that Han supported Juve as a favourite in Italy and it’s true that his idol is Paulo Dybala.
“Han has all the potential to become a great footballer, and in his first impression he has shown he already belongs in Serie A. He is doing very well at Perugia and he is still very young.”
Juventus are also expected to discuss Nicolo Barella with Cagliari Sporting director Tommaso Giulini while the Isolani are reportedly interested in Juve youngsters Alberto Cerri, Emil Audero and Fabrizio Caligara.
Why?
Well it depends….we might as well finance their nuclear program with his salary! Jokes apart, I see no reason to proceed with a player of this quality with such a background
I disagree mate, at 19 he shows a ton of potential. Dribbling, pace and strength are outstanding.
For a Serie B club, I agree! But at 19 we do not talk about potential anymore! He should be a finished product! Look at Orsolini, he had better stats for Ascoli, from a wide position and he cannot find playing time in a very attacking minded Atalanta! I ruther See then invest in Pellegri or other 16-18 years old that showed some skills in Serie A
I’m sorry but there is no way you can expect a finished product that young. Look at dybala higguain pjanic etccc.
At 19 you are a ‘prospect’ that may come good or more likely won’t. The question is will he get to play, can he force himself into the squad. I’ve not seen him play, but I can’t see any chance of him being ahead of the big money players we have now and coming in soon. He will be put out to another club like so many kids, and then his future will be hard to predict. Most never make it back to Juve……
No you are not anymore. That was like 20 years ago. I admit that a player at the age of 19 is not a finished product, but he should be able to show an 80% of his abillity. The players mature and get better at a mental level, but if you cannot score at 19, is highly unlike to be able to do it at 23!So no, he is not worth the time and the money. Sorry
How many players do Juve put out to other clubs who are already over the age of 19 to develop further? Lots. I rest my case. Sure, some few are close to a finished article. But not many. Nineteen is still a kid basically, it’s no age with players playing into mid thirties now, and even Dybala is being spoken about by Beppe M as being still in development. And he is 24!
You miss my point. The real question is: How many of those 17-24 year olds who were loaned out to “further develop” will ever be a first team regular in Juve. The answer is bar Kean (a terrible year with Verona) not a single one of them. A 19 year old with real worldclass potential should have a current ability that is above average. An average or below average 19 year old, has potential to improve ,but improve to be a rotation player or a first team player for a mid-table club not Juve.
Dybala is being spoken of as kid, joung, whatever, so that he does not have the burden of carying a team of Juve’s size. Look at the examples in every major league in Europe:
Kane,Verratti, Dele Ali, Rasford, Mbape, Neymar, Rabiot, Dembele,CR, Messi, Hazard, etc.
At 19, above average -> at 22 worldclass. No exceptions, all the best players of the past and present were from above average to phenomenal at their 18-19 and grew up to become worldclass – legents
All the players you mention were amazing players at 19-20:
-Dybala : 13goals – 10 assists with Palermo
-Higuain: 10goals – 4 assists
-Pjanic : 11goals – 13 assists
Did they get better with time and play with the best in the world? Of course they did, but they were already above average at 19 which enabled them to become world class at the age of 24-30! They grew up, improved mentaly and that is all about it.
But a player who at 19 has the stats of Kwang, well thanks but no thanks…look at :
-Zaza
-Lapadula
Great goal scorers for Serie B, but no Serie A material , or better said, no Juve material. On the other hand look at Madragora… the lad will rescue Crotone single handed , because he is one of the best DM of his generation in Italy and the only thing he lucks is experience
