UEFA have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will only be suspended for one game in the Champions League.
The Portuguese forward was sent off for placing his hand on the head of defender Murillo in Juve’s 2-0 victory against Valencia.
As is standard procedure, Europe’s governing body launched an investigation to investigate his conduct and decide whether or not to deem it violent.
Juventus had no real recourse to appeal the automatic one game ban, meaning Ronaldo will miss the Champions League tie against Young Boys on 2nd October.
UEFA announced today it’s intention “to suspend the Juventus Football Club player Cristiano Ronaldo for one (1) UEFA competition match for which he would be otherwise eligible”.
The ruling means that the Portuguese, subject to any interim transgressions, will be available for the games against Manchester United and make a return to Old Trafford.
