Juventus have confirmed Gonzalo Higuain has joined AC Milan on loan for the upcoming 2018/19 season with an option to buy outright next summer.
Pipita joins Milan on loan for a fee of €18m payable immediately with an option to be signed outright for €36m. A statement on Juve’s official website confirmed the move:
“Juventus Football Club S.p.A announces that these agreements have been finalised with AC Milan S.p.A.
“Temporary transfer of the registration rights of the player Gonzalo Higuain for a consideration of €18m, to be paid in the 2018-19 financial year.
“The agreement also provides AC Milan with the option, to be exercised at the end of the 2018-19 financial year for the definitive acquisition of the player at a price of €36m to be paid in two financial years.
Milan have also confirmed the transfer with a brief statement of their own:
“AC Milan announces the signing of the players Gonzalo Higuain and Mattia Caldara from Juventus,” a statement on the Rossoneri’s website confirms.
“Gonzalo and Mattia are two important pieces of the new era for the club.
“Gonzalo Higuain arrives at AC Milan on an expensive loan deal until June 30, 2019 with the right of redemption.
“Mattia Caldara finally arrives as part of an exchange on par with Leonardo Bonucci, who returns to Juventus. The 24-year-old defender has signed a contract that binds him to AC Milan until 30 June 2023.”
