Paul Pogba is expected to leave Manchester United in the summer and former Juve midfielder Momo Sissoko believes his future lies in Turin.
French international Pogba has seen his season hampered by injuries and despite a suggestion that Real’s interest in him might have waned, coach Zinedine Zidane remains a big admirer.
Alongside Real Madrid, Juventus have maintained a strong interest in the 27-year-old with a suggestion in a recent report that they made a concerted effort to bring him back to the club last summer.
Speaking to Europa Calcio, former Bianconeri midfielder Sissoko offered his thoughts on the potential transfer.
“I know that Zidane wants him at Real Madrid, but he would like to return to Juventus,” Sissoko told the website.
“But these are situations that depend not only on Pogba but also on Manchester United; he has a contract until 2021 with the English club.
“In my opinion, Pogba must find a team that makes him feel important in order to regain his top level.”
Sissoko also talked about his career in the black and white of Juventus.
“From the first day that I set foot at Juventus, I immediately felt at home. It was an honour for me to play for Juventus.
“I don’t have a special memory, for me every moment spent in the black and white shirt was special.”
