Matthijs De Ligt scored his first Juventus goal to hand victory to the Bianconeri in a hard-fought Derby Della Mole.
Juventus Player Ratings
Szczesny: Made a trio of easy saves in the opening half before being really tested – Made a well-timed run out of his box to make an important clearance and before a vital save late in the game. 7.0/10
Juan Cuadrado: One wayward pass aside, he put in a good shift, regularly pushing forward in support of the attack and pinging in some fine crosses. His overall play, especially when attacking, seems to have come on leaps and bounds. 6.5/10
Leonardo Bonucci: Not overly troubled and seemed to have the measure of Belotti while having a good chance to open the scoring. Solid in the second 45′ and closed down the space to help Juve see out the win. 7.0/10
Matthijs De Ligt: Played a good cross to help create one of Juve’s opening chances, almost got caught again with another handball before doing well from Ronaldo’s cross, only to be denied by Sirigu. Made amends in the second half with a fine finish to score his first Juve goal and secure the victory. 7.5/10
Mattia De Sciglio: Started off very poor in the opening 45 making some poor passes and easily being beaten – Seemed to be growing into the game when making two very food interceptions as the half came to a close, but he continued to be wasteful and didn’t impose himself on the game. 5.5/10
Midfield
Miralem Pjanic: The only real creative force in midfield right now, which played into Torino’s hands to an extent as they knew who to target. Despite that, he managed to give Juve momentum when moving forward and was one of the best players out there. 7.0/10
Blaise Matuidi: More or less anonymous for large spells in the opening portion of the game and while he had some good moments in the second half, he was once again wasteful with the ball in the opposition half. 6.0/10
Rodrigo Bentancur: Had one bright moment with some fancy footwork and a good cross for Cristiano, but he seemed to drift in and out of the match, not really getting a foothold in midfield. 6.0/10
Attack
Federico Bernardeschi: I honestly forgot that he was on the pitch for the first 45 minutes, and he was quickly subbed in the second. Poor, once again. 4.5/10
Cristiano Ronaldo: Dropped deep, pushed wide and played through the middle and had a few half chances and one very good effort on goal but it was an average night by his usually high standards. 6.0/10
Paulo Dybala: Two decent chances in the first portion of the match, both well saved by Sirigu – Another of Juve’s most creative players as he looked to try to split the dogged Torino defence but had to be content to come off early in place of Higuain. 6.0/10
Substitutes
Aaron Ramsey: Made some great runs, smartly timed and had a chance to kill the game off, but for more Sirigu heroics. 6.0/10
Sami Khedira: Steadied things in the centre and had a half chance of his own. 6.0/10
Gonzalo Higuain: An exceptional cameo – had a wonderful effort miraculously saved by Sirigu before providing the assist for De Ligt’s goal and then testing the Toro keeper again. 6.5/10
